James LYON 1783-1807 Trelawney, Jamaica

James Lyon came from Brechin, Angus, Scotland. The first mention is a land grant at Caroline in 1783. Subsequently he was granted land at St. George Trelawney in 1789.

His death is recorded at Port of Rio Bueno, Falmouth Jamaica on 04 Jun 1807 and he was buried in the Anglican Church yard although no stone is present. He raised a family of 4 sons and two daughters, who other than the eldest Samuel born about 1789, he stayed at Holland and Martha Brae, Falmouth the others went to Bristol, England.

The mystery is who James' wife was as there is not a positive marriage in Angus. There is reference to a Will... to Rio Bueno, Trelawney Estate

Purchase of ground for burial 210ft X 40ft from exe of James Lyon in 1811.

I would like to discover the will and also who the mother of Samuel and his siblings was.
