I am researching the Goffe family of Jamaica and those who they bred and associate with. In particular, I am keen to trace the descendants and antecedents of my great grandfather, John Beecham Goffe (the elder) (1819-1882) who died in, and spent the greater part of his life, in Port Maria, St Mary Parish, Jamaica. To this end I seek information on the family links and history of the following people and families.

Goffe family – anywhere in the West Indies or Central America; Clemetson family – anywhere in the West Indies or Scotland; Lumsden family of Portland Parish, Jamaica; Brown family of St Ann’s Bay, Jamaica; Letiesha Reckley; Bernice Cummings; Jennie Lucia DaCosta – born in Trinidad in 1917; Ita Rebecca Murray – died in about 1946 in Portland Parish, Jamaica; Eliza Farquharson Folks; Caroline Culleton (nee Goffe) born in about 1847 in St Mary's Parish, Jamaica; Ernestine Philibert.

You may already have stumbled upon this, but there is a Joy Lumsden (a former UWI professor) that is putting together a historical website on Jamaica in general and on the Collegiate School in Kingston, Jamaica. She has a LinkedIn account. It may be worth reaching out to her.

Good luck.
