John Wypich -- I am researching my wife's family history. Her great grandfather lived in Jamaica around 1860 and died (drowned) there. His name was Robert Stanley Freeman and he was the superintendent of roads. He married a Mary Isabella Smith. They had three kids. One of them, my wives grandfather Eversleigh Campbell Freeman was born on the second of January 1893 in Half Way Tree, St Andrew . He left Jamaica as a teenager and came to Canada through the USA. He participated in the Olympics as a walker in 1920 Antwerp and 1924 Paris. We only have anecdotal information on the other two siblings: A daughter that apparently perished in Cuba in a fire and a son of whom we only know that he left Jamaica with Eversleigh. Don't know their names either.
I have a copy of the birth certificate for Eversleigh Campbell Freeman . It is the only document we possess. Thank goodness. Eversleigh died on the 30th of June 1973.
If there is anything you can do to shed some light on Robert Stanley Freeman it will be much appreciated.
