Hello, I am doing some research on the Fleming family from East End, Anguilla, British West Indies. My grand father was Manchester du Bois Fleming b: April 14, 1917 of Sandy Hill, East End, Anguilla. Black.

I believe that the famous deputy Governor Arthur John Hodge of Anguilla who died in London January 28, 1747/48 is also my ancestor on the side of my great grand mother's family.

This is the same famous General Hodge, who led the Famous Brigade against and won the war from the French as they tried to claim the Island through Rendezvous Bay.

Another ancestor may be Margaret Eliza Hodge ("Grand Sall") who was Born on St. Croix Danish West Indies, In 1867.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I took a DNA test a few months ago and there seems to be some type of Hodge/Gumbs/Lake connection in my family tree. My great great grandfather was William Hodge (1866-1903) who as , based on family lore, born in Trinidad to Benjamin Hodge and Margaret Pitcher. He had a brother Walter that he came to the States with as a teen. That's all we know.
Based on my DNA I related to Lakes from Anguilla and Gumbs from St Thomas and Anguilla.
Any info would be appreciated
