The National Geographic Genographic Project

Postby bimjim » Thu May 01, 2008 8:21 pm

As an "early adopter" I had my DNA tested in this Project. This test only used the first 12 markers to determine pathways out of Africa many thousands of years ago.

That was interesting stuff, but I have come back here to update - to say that 12 markers don't tell you much about your recent past and relatives.

I suggest that if you are seriously starting to seek results from DNA testing you should give FamilyTreeDNA your Genographic Kit number and order the upgrade, and go as high on the marker count as you can afford... they still have the original samples and you won't need to provide them again.
