Hello Ms. Duperly,

Unfortunately I am of no use to you in your search for information on your ancestors! I would hope that with one of the most famous names in Jamaican history, someone will step forward to assist. My only contact to offer would be Ms. Lumsden, and her research, but I’m sure that you know her.

I have my father’s records from when he was the manager for the Jamaica Tourist Board for Canada back from 1957-1962.

I have been looking on-line to find out the name of the young woman only named as Miss Jamaica in some of the pictures from July of 1958. She was accompanied by a Mrs. Duperly to Toronto for a publicity tour. I found that you hold that title, and was wondering if you know her. This puzzles me. Different year? Willing to share my pictures and the itinerary for Miss Jamaica while in Toronto. Thanks so much, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Hello Lu Herman, thanks for your post.

I am Adrienne Joan Duperly who was Miss Jamaica 1958, I travelled with my Mom, Doris Duperly (Little Theatre) to New York and Toronto Canada where I was 'Guest of Honor' at Miss Canada 1958.

If you found a photograph of me with my Mom (Doris) during the 1958 tour I would truly appreciate your sending it to me by Private Message here. Over the years some albums went astray from that era.

Thank you, I hope to hear from you again,

A Joan Duperly
