I am researching Col. William Tucker DICKENSON (or DICKINSON) who flourished in the latter part of the 18th century and the first forty or so years of the 19th century. He was associated with the Belmont and Industry plantations and with the DALZELL family. He may have come from Jamaica where a William DICKENSON married Leonora Sophia CARTER daughter of Ambrose CARTER of Barking Lodge, St Thomas in the East, County of Surrey, in 1807. This latter record may in fact be his marriage as he is supposed to have had a daughter also named Leonora Sophia born 1818-19 on St Vincent. She married circa 1835-1839, Capt. William MACKINTOSH (d. 1861), of the British Ordnance department, who was originally from County Wicklow, Ireland. This couple later settled in London, Canada West (now Ontario) about 1842 with their older children and one black house servant, Sarah AQUART or ACQUART. Any information on WTD his wife and family and connexions would be most gratefully received. TIA, RHBCZ.
