WARNER - St. Kitts

Postby caribbeanton15 » Sun Nov 12, 2017 11:06 pm

I have been doing some research on this site but I have not been able to find any information on the surname Warner. I am trying to obtain some information on the Warner families of St. Kitts, particularly Sandy Point, St. Kitts. I am a descendant of Joe Warner who lived in Sandy Point. He was married to Mary Blake. Some of their children were Alwyn, Arthur (Boardbike), Elva, Wilfred, Mildred Winifred, Louvina and Tommy. I am one of the granddaughters of Winifred Warner.

Hello there!

I have recently discovered a Warner link to my family via DNA - Antigua (we think).
I have Blake on my Jamaican side.
Have you done a DNA test by chance?
I would love to hear from you :)

Have not done any DNA testing. Mary Blake was from St. Kitts as well.

Hi. I posted a reply earlier to which you responded but somehow it got deleted (I misplaced my password and am just getting back on line to catch up). My grandfather was named Joseph Warner (abt 1890?-1956?). Apparently he is originally from St. Kitts. He lived in Port of Spain Trinidad and worked as a stevedore on the ships. Incidentally, my father's paternal family are Blake's, with my great grandfather (abt. 1865?-1930) named Samuel Blake. While he also lived in Port of Spain Trinidad, some say he too was originally from St. Kitts, though I have no evidence to verify this. I have done DNA ancestry tests which could help to determine possible connections.

Hi there!
Great to hear from you.
Which company did you test with? I used Ancestry.
Are you on facebook? My profile is: https://www.facebook.com/yetunde.abiola.796
My Blakes are from Jamaica - it would be worth comparing our dna kits to see if there is a link in the first instance.
Please respond soon :)

Greetings,
I tested with ancestry and can be found there as rwarner with my tree on that site as Warner family tree. Also uploaded to familytreedna.
Do not recall seeing you as a match depending on what name you go by there.

Hello again
No - I have just checked - there is no rwarner on my list of matches.
My kit has also been loaded onto FTDNA.
Have you tried uploading your kit to: www.gedmatch.com ? You may attract some new matches there.
