I am seeking information on BEATON and QUINTON (QUINTYN) surnames.

My maternal grandfather, James Adolphus BEATON, emigrated to New York in 1920, followed by his wife Kathleen in 1923. The family account says she returned to British Guiana within a year and died in childbirth. James later sent for his sons, Donald (or Samuel) and Clifton who arrived in the early 1930s.

In his Social Security application, James BEATON lists his parents as George BEATON and Marian QUINTYN (his spelling). In an audio account of his life, he says that his father was a supervisor on a boat for a sugar plantation and the he was an iron worker. He also says that he was born in New Amsterdam. He was known to some close friends and relatives as "Dolphus".

I am interested in connecting with possible relatives in Guyana and any information about these people.
