My family research has mostly centred in Scotland but a couple of Munro's have ventured to the West Indies but not for any great length of time.

One big surprise to me was an ancester DONALD MUNRO who was posted to Jamaica around 1820. He was with the 92nd regiment or the Gordon Highlanders and the regiment fought at the Battle of Waterloo just two years before in 1815.

He married AGNES BRYCE possibly in Scotland and then came to Jamaica and had a son here ALEXANDER MUNRO born in Spanishtown 11/11/1821 and they were then reposted to Scotland by 1824.

The regiment was devastated by yellow fever in Jamaica in 1820 or so and 348 men and officers died.

Be glad to hear from anyone who has connections.
