Originally JARDIM, a Portuguese surname, probably from Madeira. Easily transliterated into JARDINE by English pursers. Cyril Jardine, seeking John (Joao?) Gonsalves JARDINE ca. 1870 who married 2 sisters in the RODERIQUE family. Originally landed St. Kitts, then went to St. Vincent and after the 1902 volcano eruption, much of the family moved to Trinidad. My grandfather was on the illegitimate side, but I really don't care. Most of the info . came from me, so please communicate only if you have some really new stuff. Thanks. Cyril Jardine.
