William MUNRO born in Edinburgh in 1846 and graduated from Edinburgh University as a surgeon in 1869, wasted no time in coming to St.Kitts for whatever reason I don't know. His grandfather ALEXANDER MUNRO had been born in Jamaica in 1821 as a result of his father DONALD MUNRO being posted to Jamaica with the 92nd. regiment, the Gordon Highlanders, but they only spent a few years in the West Indies.
But I digress.
William MUNRO was either just married when he came or married on the island to an unknown wife in 1869 or 1870.
He had two children born on St. Kitts
- WILLIAM ALEXANDER MUNRO in 1870
MARY ELLEN AGNES MUNRO in 1871 - 1872
I think his wife may have died on St. Kitts before 1878 but don't know her identity.
The family then went back to England before 1879
Anyone who can throw some light on this will be celebrated.
