Re: CARRINGTON - Barbados to Trinidad and Tobago

Thomas Carrington married my ancestor, Sarah Smith Benjamin in 1780, St James Parish (born 1754 in Barbados, daughter of William Benjamin and Ann/Hannah). They had at least 4 children: Sara...

Re: FENTY - Barbados

Hi Lori Thanks for your message. It was the connection between watchmaker and jeweler that had me thinking your James might be the father of my Richard and of course there could still be a connection (nephew, brother etc). There are a number of Richard Francis Fenty in the Barbados records but I can...

Re: FENTY - Barbados

It was a long shot - grasping at straws! I was hoping there would be a connection with watchmaker and jewellery but I guess not. Worth a try.

Thanks

Re: FENTY - Barbados

Do you know if James Fenty and Catherine had any other children? My ancestor is Richard Frances Fenty and he was born around 1824 to a James Fenty. Richard's occupation was watchmaker and I noticed that your James Fenty was a jeweller and wondered if there might be a connection? Mr Richard Francis F...

Re: FENTY - Barbados, Bridgetown

Hi Lori Thanks for getting back to me. Fenty is not a direct line for me and I have no DNA info. All I have on Richard Fenty is that he was a watchmaker. He was born around 1824 and his father's name was James. He married my 3x great grandmother in 1869 in St Michael Parish. She was Sarah Francis Wo...

Re: FENTY - Barbados, Bridgetown

Hi Lori Jeweler and watchmaker could be connected - I just don't have any other information on the Fenty's other than he married Sarah (possibly a second marriage for Richard). I wish there was more information available about Barbados.....its been driving me crazy that I have come up against a bric...

Re: OWENS, William Grannum 1780-1832 - Barbados

Hi Thank you for your information. I did find OWENS on the Slave Registers but unfortunately did not get a plantation name or any real information. I am checking out the latest scans from Family Search - thank you for the suggestion, I did not know they were available to browse. I will keep looking ...

BENJAMIN - Barbados

Looking for any information at all on the William BENJAMIN family of Barbados (mostly Bridgetown). William was born around 1730 but I am not sure where. He married Ann or Hannah in 1756. Their children I think were all born in Barbados so perhaps they were also married there. Margaret c1756 m. John ...
