Re: SENIOR (Richard) - West Indies

LynnC and ValT i had 10 percent Iberian Peninsula, but the majority was of Fench and German but virtually nil. English. Really interesting as I believe even in siblings the dna is different. :D

Re: SENIOR (Richard) - West Indies

Valt, Did you have Iberian Peninsula in your dna because that would be the Spanish and we were under the understanding that they were actually Spanish Jews.

Re: SENIOR (Richard) - West Indies

Thank you, ValT, I found some of the Harwood children born to Edward and Susan.

Alice 1852
Edward 1854
Louisa 1856
Richard 1858
Frederick 1860
Catherine 1861
Emma 1863.

I think that's all!

Re: SENIOR (Richard) - West Indies

Valt, I'll plough through my papers, will get back to you in a few days. I too had a subscription to Ancestry, and that's where I found the information, I haven't got a sub at present. :D

Re: SENIOR (Richard) - West Indies

Interested in our family connection ValT. Edward and Susan also had a daughter, my gggrandmother, Alice Charlotte Harwood born 1852. I think there were other children too, I could check through my papers if you're interested.

Really appreciate the information and look forward to any other research results you have in the future. Being on the other side of the world and having exhausted the paid sites and Family Search it's great to get any information, thankyou. :D

Re: SAYERS, John Tucker, SENIOR - St. Martin/St. Kitts

Mike B great so see all the information and also the photographs I am downloading as I write. I notice you seem to have researched to indicate that perhaps Judah/Julia was not West Indies born, or do you think she may have come over and then married in Scotland? Thank you so much for the information...

Re: SENIOR (Richard) - West Indies

Pauline, No more clues here as to why she was born in the West Indies. The only reason I can think of is because her mother Julia was resident there. Eventually hopefully new records will come to light.

Re: SENIOR (Richard) - West Indies

Good to hear from you, I'm Gillian. The book I have was compiled by Stuart Hobbs from Christchurch although I'm not sure whether he's still living there. I thought maybe he had made contact as he has a note that he visited Bessie in 2008, would that ring a bell? I will copy the book for you if you w...

Re: SENIOR (Richard) - West Indies

LynnC have you got the Hobbs family tree book, it has quite a bit information about Justus? I'd be interested to know if you have family photograps too. I remember visiting your grandad, my Uncle Arthur and in paricular he had a toby jog which played a tune, maybe he played that for you too. It must...

Re: SENIOR (Richard) - West Indies

thanks for your reply, we are going on holiday tomorrow so will be in touch certainly when we return. My parents were Nesta and Allan Hobbs. You mentioned Susan Harriet Frost who married Edward Harwood, her father William was a Queen's Marshalman so definitely worked for royalty. Maybe Susan did too...
