Re: MacDERMOTT, MacMILLAN, ROE, Dr. Charles MacDermott - Jam

Hi Harvey - A few years ago I exchanged emails with 'The MacDermott' in Ireland & he mentioned the presence in 1799 in Jca of a Dr. Charles MacDermott Roe. I have never come across him in the records, although I was researching McDermotts in St. Thomas/Vale, not Kingston. That's all I have on hi...

Re: GROOM - Spanish Town, Jamaica

Hello Helen

I'm glad to hear from you, as my last post doesn't show up on the message board. Probably I did something wrong. Hope this is on private mode.

Re: McDERMOTT - Jamaica, possibly St. Thomas in the Vale

So sorry Harv, It should have been 1291704, parish of Clarendon, which is where you will find the Snaiths, Burrells, etc. I found the McD's in various films, Susan Jane in 1291713, Francis & Chas H in 1291714, Elma Anne & Edward Clarence in 1291715, & Henrietta in 1291736. I think I have...

Re: McDERMOTT - Jamaica, possibly St. Thomas in the Vale

Hello Harv. I have just found the death of Dr. C.H mcD on 26 Nov.1850 in St.thos/Vale, of cholera at the age of 45. The source is LDS#1291738. I am descended from the Dr. through Francis Snaith McD, but understood the McD's were from Roscommon so am interested in your find. I have so far been unable...

SNAITH - Jamaica

I'm looking for a connection between Snaith & McDermott 1st half 1800's. as the Snaith name keeps on coming up among the McDermott's. Has anyone out there any other info? I expect there may be a marriage connection.

Thanks Ann
