A couple of the 58-60 crew (shown here) thought up the idea of a mini reunion. It was advertised and organized for 2001 and over 20 who had formed the crew over 40 years previously met, most of whom had never set eyes on each other from those days.

"Doc" was the third member of the "crew" that conceived the idea of the 1958-60 reunion

On October 5th, 2001 the "early birds" arrived and had the proverbial "dinner time session".  The lamp was soon "swinging" and it was good preparation for the "Meet & Greet" in the evening.

The "Meet & Greet" in the evening consisted of about 75% of the people who had planned to attend the reunion. A few wives and significant others also joined in the fun.  They were all intrigued by their partners nicknames from "Ulster" days!  It was felt prudent not to share with them the meaning of some of these "names"  Much "Lamp Swinging" took place, old  photographs and memorabilia passed around and many tales of the super runs ashore we had all experienced so many years before.
