Teignmouth Sea Cadets
T.S. Teignmouth Sea Cadets
Teignmouth
Sea Cadets re-commissioning as T.S. Canonteign on Sunday the 20th
of April. The Parade was from sea front to St James the Less, [situated
in West Teignmouth, on Bitton Park Road
and is next to
Teignmouth White Ensign Club. RNA Newton Abbot
were
allocated 12 places in the church. Branch President Patrick & Lesley
Mole are official dignitaries. President Patrick played a key
role in the ceremony in presenting the T.S. Canonteign new standard,
which has been funded by our RNA Newton Abbot Branch. Chairman John Kiff
and wife Joyce along with Secretary Roy Butler and wife Betty, were named
guests. 10 more seats in the church were allocated for RNA NA
members, plus the Standard Bearer Shipmate Peter Hart. Sadly no more
seats were available; but comparing it with the guest list the Branch have been allocated
more than generous seat allocation.
For those of you that are not aware, there is a
White Ensign Club
next
to St James Church where I feel you should receive a warm welcome.
STOP PRESS:
For those of you who had the privilege to witness the parade, I am sure
that you will agree that the youngsters put on an amazing demonstration
of precision drill and marching. It was also great to see
representatives from the Royal Navy and other supporting Sea cadet
Units. Hopefully I will be able to post some pictures soon.
Awaiting the courtesy of a reply from Mid Devon Advertiser and Official
Photographer.
