The First  "Ahoy Shipmate" issue created and put together by Norrie Millen using Cut & Paste and clippings proved so popular that the Ahoy became a regular newsletter, with improvements appearing every issue.  In later issues photographs appeared on a professional looking glossy covered magazine, which gained official recognition from National reference Library of Canada

Admiral Aboard!
Admiral Sir Desmond Cassidi KCB arrived in Toronto on June 9 1988 and was met by Branch President Norrie Millen and Secretary David O'Flynn.  After a whirlwind tour of Toronto and the firing of the noon gun on H.M.C.S. Haida, the admiral visited the branch and saw the Branch show "Up Spirits" show which he much enjoyed and appreciated.

The First British Show 1986
The first British Show was held at the CNE Grounds  in February of 1986.  The picture on right is the Royal Naval & Royal Marine Association combined booth. 


 


 

Who said Matelots can't work with Bootnecks?

Norrie Millen of the RNA is sharing a story with Mike Cubitt of the RMA.  Jack Phillips of the RMA is in the background explaining some historical point to a booth visitor.  Both Jack and Mike were "Sea Marines"
