"23 Hand Picked Boys join the Royal Navy"

This was the headline of the article which accompanied the above picture in the Bristol Evening Standard.

This picture is taken on Stapleton Road Railway Station in Bristol, England on May 7th 1957.  These were boys and men from the West Country, who were heading off to join the Royal Navy.  I have never seen the majority of the group since.  Can anybody supply names, history or whereabouts of anybody in this picture?

"23 Hand Picked Boys join the Royal Navy"

A group of 23 "hand-picked" boys left Stapleton Road Station Bristol, today to start a career in the Royal Navy.
All were going to Portsmouth; more left Temple Mead's for Devonport.

These boys, from all over the West Country, were selected on a basis of high standard of education, character and physical fitness.

The recruiting officer, Mr. W. Jenvey, said: "There is no reason why any of them should not reach flag rank."

All between 15 and 18, the youngest was a Barnstaple boy, Richard Trapnell (15)

Some of the boys will go to boys training establishments such as HMS Ganges, but some of the older ones are going to trade depots as junior electricians or engineers.
