LEVY, Jamaica, St Ann and Mandeville

Postby Madeleine Mitchell » Mon Jun 12, 2006 2:48 pm

Madeleine Mitchell. This Levy family came from London in 1840's to Jamaica. How was Joseph Levy of Mandeville related to Henry Levy who immigrated?

As far as I know Estella Levy of St Thomas was not a descendant of Joseph or Henry Levy. Joseph Levy did have a son Arthur who had at least one illegitimate son but not as far as I know a daughter. At any rate I do not know of him being in St Thomas, but rather in Mandeville.
Henry did have a daughter Mary Ann born at Grove Place, Manchester and baptized in 1849. Her mother was Mary Lindsay.
