HUNTER, MOLYNEUX, ALLEN - Montserrat

Postby TheAudman » Sun Dec 11, 2011 11:56 pm

Looking to see how far I can trace my roots. Both parents are from Monsterrat. George Hunter was my grandfather, but he carried his mother's name (Sarah Hunter). As I understand it, his father's name was John Molyneux, but was was given the Hunter name to carry. Therefore, I guess I am a Molyneux by birth right, which I never knew. So this is my first attempt at trying to gain more information about my ancestors and to see how many relatives I have out there that I don't even know about. Anyone with any information would be greatly appreciated.

The Molyneux family came from Virgin Island St Peters Montserrat. My Great GrandMother was a Molyneux. She Married a Murrain from Long Ground in the east of Montserrat. My Great Grandmother, was one of three sibling of John Molyneux first wife, she was born in 1884. John Molyneux second wife Sarah had fifteen children. In later years three of Sarah children my great Grandmother half sibling came to Long Ground from Virgin Island to live. These would be your Grandfathers full sibling. I will name them for you Aunt Mon Uncle Ben Aunt Bet, they all had children in Long Ground. I lived with Aunt Mon in the same house in the UK. She pass many years ago. Most of my information came from my Grandmother. I am only half family to you. I was very interested in my great Grandmother family the Molyneux. Their was a Brother called Brown who lived in the North of Montserrat also a sister called Bella she lived in Happy Hill, a brother John in Davy Hill. I hope this help you.
