I am looking for any information comcerning Samuel CHOLLET, born in 1748 in Moudon/switzerland, who died in 1814 on Trinidad where he was Custom Collector.
He also was on Dominica around 1784, on Saint-Eustache around 1791, and on Barbados as Commissary General in 1806/1807.
His daughter Elisa CHOLLET married Jean François MOREAU DU BREUIL in 1804 on Tobago.
He further mentions in his will two natural sons born on Trinidad (Nelson and Samuel Jr).
Samuel Jr died in 1828, naming his half-brother Nelson as executor of his wills and as guardian of his two minor daughters.
Nelson married Amelia SARLAT, probably on Grenada, where they had slaves.
Other probable related CHOLLET in the Caribbean are:
- Ann CHOLLET who had slaves on Grenada, she married Arthur Chichester CROOKSHANK in 1825 and died in 1841
- Tazie CHOLLET who had slaves on Dominica between 1817 and 1820
- Philippa and Rosabella CHOLLET, the two daughters of Samuel Jr, they were still minor in 1833/1834 and had slaves on Grenada (Nelson as guardian)
I especially need to learn who were the parents of Ann and Tazie.
Any information on the possible descendancy of these persons is also welcome.
