My ancestor, Valery (or Valory) BERLET was recorded in Guadeloupe (Saint Anne) in 1797. At that time he had two houses.

In my family, we say we have a British ancestor which could have the Surname « Berlet » and could be the first Berlet in Guadeloupe, probably during the last English occupation (1759-1763).

Valery married Marie Noelle Capdeville about 1810 and had a daughter Rose Paulina Berlet probably born in 1811.

I would like to know where I can find Surnames of Englishmen that occupied Guadeloupe in that period ? Thanks for your help.

Sincerely

Manoucoul
