George W.H. GRANO b. Dominica before 1830
Emigrated to Victoria, Australia.

Geo GRANO established the Vine Tree Store at Ararat on the Central Goldfields in Victoria, during the 1850s. He constructed a large home in Ararat and named it Dominica in honour of his country of birth. Geo became a prominent local business man and community leader; past-president of Ararat Fire Brigade; Catholic.

George W.H. GRANO's son Theodore George GRANO (b. Ararat) was a highly respected barrister who successfully conducted himself in legal practice for many years at Ararat. Theo's fifth child, Paul Langton GRANO (1894-1975) a journalist and poet, initially practised law for some years before joining the Queenland Public Service.
