My great grandfather was Edward Stanley Gilkes, a tailor, married a Christiana Smith. I know they lived in Hindsbury Road in the early 1900s, and they had my grandfather in 1905 but I haven't been able to find out anything else. I'm guessing they were born approximately 1870-1880. If anyone has news I'd be very grateful to hear it; or does anyone know how I could find out about tailors and such in Barbados in the early 20th century? Thanks!
