One of my family's last names is Scanterbury. However I got my great grandfather death certificate and noticed his name was spelled Scantlebury (Joseph). I have learned he migrated from Barbados to Trinidad. Any info about this family line would be appreciated.

Hi

My uncle married a Scantlebury from Barbados. You mentioned that he moved to Trinidad. Could he have possible lived in Panama for a few years during the construction of the Canal? There are a large number of Scantlebury's in Panama. After the construction of the canal some returned to Barbados but many stayed in Panama. If you can gain access to the 1930 and 1940 census for the Canal Zone (available at ancestry.com or familysearch.org) you will see their names.
