BURKE, ASHBY, VALVERDE - Barbados, Trinidad, St. Vincent

My grandmother was Alice Keeling Burke and was born in 1893 in Barbados (or perhaps Trinidad).

Alice's mothers maiden name was Ashby and we think her mother was one of the daughters of William Armstrong Ashby and Rebecca Keeling Valverde.

We would like to get information about the daughters of William Ashby and Rebecca and would like to know if any of them married John Burke (we think he came from St Vincent)

William Armstrong Ashby and Rebecca Keeling Valverde had (at least?) two daughters. One, Anne Maria Ashby, married her cousin John Ashby Bentham. They were my great-great grandparents.

William and Rebecca were also the parents of Julia Eliza Ashby, born 1864. She might be the person you are seeking.

Forgot to mention, after the death of William Armstrong Ashby, Rebecca Keeling Valverde Ashby moved to Trinidad. If Julia Eliza Ashby went with her, it would tie into your possibility that Alice Keeling Burke was born there.

I am very interested to hear that Rebecca Keeling Valverde went to Trinidad after the death of her husband. Julia was born in 1864 and I think William Armstrong Ashby died around 1865 and Julia would have been a small child at that time so one would expect that Rebecca would have taken her along. Also there is a history of Valverde's being in Trinidad. Do you have any records to show that Rebecca did in fact go to Trinidad ? Many thanks for your help.
