I am looking for information about Ellen da Costa, born in 1812 in "Santa Cruz, West Indies," according to US Federal Census Records. She later moved to PA, USA and married Richard S Newbold in 1839. If anyone has information about the da Costa family in the early 19th century in Santa Cruz, please contact me.

Santa Cruz is the former name of St. Croix, in the USVI, when that island was Spanish - they still call themselves Cruzians.

Apart from a Santa Cruz 25 miles inland near the north-east coast of Cuba I can't find any others in the West Indies. There may be a Santa Cruz elsewhere, but that's the first and second that comes to my mind.
