HI A little information about dates and places might help. I have a John Clark marrying Elizabeth in Jamaica about 1840. Any connection?

The family lived in Hanover & St James. John Clarke married Petronella Virgo circa 1760, had two sons, John & William Virgo Clarke. WV Clarke married Ann Parr Bernard and had a son Wm Virgo Clarke [II] born in 1801.
So it does not look as if there is a connection to your John Clark.

I have done very little research on the Clark/Clarke line. Dr James Cecil Phillippo married Hannah Selina Clark about 1860 probably in Kingston. She was the daughter of a Baptist missionary, James was the son of another. It seems that your line was in Jamaica before the missionaries came.

My primary research in Jamaica is the Phillippo family.
