WILLIAMS - Jamaica, Portland

Postby MrJulal » Thu Aug 31, 2006 4:11 pm

I am trying to find information on the WILLAMS who were born in Kensington (and environs), Portland. They got their mother's name but their father was JIM MILLER who I hear was pretty well known. He had a brother JOHN MILLER.

Some of the names are Ionie, Doris, Louisa, Clarence, Winnifred. Anyone crossing path with the people, please email me. Thanks

An Update
************
I found birth records of my Grandmother Ionie E. Williams. Her mother is given as DORCAS WILLIAMS (Seamstress) of Pleasant Hill, Portland, Jamaica and her father JAMES MILLER. She earlier gave birth to a female child (later named Doris) to a ISAAC NEUFOILLE (sometimes NUEVILLE etc).

Anyone has Williams around this area of portland circa 1906. Would love to find some origin for DORCAS WILLIAMS. SHe was of Indian descent from what I have gathered so far....
