Im trying to locate my Great Grandfather (Charles Wilson) c1890 and his marriage certificate puts his father Michael Wilson as a MASTER MARINER I believe this to be a form of Captain therefore would there have been some form of records registering people of this profession??

Many thanks

Okay if your find out where these records are kept. please let us know.
I for one would love to find out more about the surname USHER who lost their lives and are buried in Kingston Parish yard.

Thank you, the seaman Usher was from England.
I am having problems trying to locate such a document, just thought someone would know where to go.

Records for English and Welsh mariners are held at TNA at Kew, and there are also some at the National Maritime Museum, London but I don't know how much is available .
There is a list of Welsh mariners at www.welshmariners.org.uk
