I am trying to find information about Walter Harrison TITTENSOR. I don't know when he moved to Jamaica, but his wife Millicent Mabson Tittensor and children Gordon Mabson and Lindsay Maclean Tittensor sailed to Jamaica in 1911 aboard the SS Manzares. In 1916 he was living in Kingston and was General Manager of the West India Electric Co, and a captain in the Kingston Company of the Jamaica Reserve Regiment. He is also listed in the Jamaica Reserve Regiment in 1925 and this is the last I know about him. His son Gordon Mabson Tittensor moved to Canada and was living in Montreal by 1926. I do not know what happened to his wife Millicent Mabson Tittensor his son Lindsay Maclean Tittensor. I would be very grateful for any information about them in Jamaica, and whether they died there or moved elsewhere.

I look forward to any replies.

Regards,

Paul

I have just found when my ancestor travelled to Jamaica. He left Avonmouth (near Bristol, England) on 24 December aboard the Port Antonio bound for Kingston. He was indexed under Sittensor on Ancestry.

More information about him on my web site (http://www.tittensor.com) - follow the link to “Some notable Tittensors".

I would be very grateful for any information about the time he or his family spent in Jamaica, or the West India Electric Co. as per my original post.

Regards,

Paul

I have been able to find quite a lot of new information about my ancestor Walter Harrison Tittensor's time in Jamaica in the Kingston gleaner which is indexed on the FindMyPast web sie:

1913 Dec 23. Son Lindsay Tittensor died at St Andrew.

1915 - 1918. Mentioned lots of times to do with running of and disputes about the running of the tramways, his time in the Jamaica Reserve Regiment, and shooting at a file club referred to as P.M.R.C.

1918 March. Resigned from his post at the West India Electric Company.

1918 March. Sale notice for his house "Rotorua", Hope Road, St Andrew.

1918 April. Listed as a passenger departing for New York.

I would be very grateful for any further information that anyone could provide.

Many thanks,

Paul
