My g-grandmother's sister Helen Katherine Phillippo married Arthur James Dudley Stuart St. Aubyn in Kingston, Jamaica June 30, 1894. His father John was Chief Constable of Jamaica.

Do you see a connection?

Been tracking these St A,s for years - we are a really confusing/confused
lot.

Have a possible link for you - I have been in contact through Genes Reunited.co.uk with a "Julia" re Alan St A. of Jamaica with times that seem to tie in with the one you mentioned. I will contact her and let her know
about you. Think you will have to join Genes Reunited to contact her though.

My lot comes out of Barbados and Cornwall UK.

Thanks and keep in touch

Bill

How and when did your St A line end up in the Caribbean?

I have a cousin who was in the oil business in Dallas before he retired and he remembered meeting a St Aubyn there, but, at that time, had no idea there was a family connection.

I am a long time member of Genes Reunited and have talked with two other St A researchers, Terence and Diana. Would you like me to pass on your address?

St A Posting Error

I just saw that in my first post I made an error. I had meant that AJDS St Aubyn was the Inspector of Police and that his father was John, son of the 2nd Baron St Levan and younger brother of 3rd Baron St Levan. I don't know how the message got scrambled.

We are descended from Lt Wm St A who arrived in Barbados circa 1852
as Lt in 2nd West India Regiment of Foot and is mentioned in J E Caulfield's
100 yr history of the Regiment. His father is not known but it is thought to be Sir John St A. Wm married Elizabeth Ann Phillips who was the daughter of the Surgeon General in Barbados.

Have you looked at the book - The St Aubyns of Cornwall 1200-1977
written by Diana Hartley? (We are in the back!!)

Come back to me privately and we can perhaps continue from there. Really happy to be in contact with you

Bill
