John Bignal is the G-grandfather of my mother's father. I've located his death certificate DB 655 Manchioneal Portland d. 1894 at the age of 90 yrs. This would put his birth abt 1804-1805. He lived @ Panton's Hope Portland . He married Phillis Neufoille/Neufville b. 1824 in Portland in 1842. Apparently he was a much older man.

Children: Robert Bignall b. 1842-1919, married Cecelia Elizabeth Allwood b. abt 1840-1947
Richard Edward Bignall b.1848-1903
Thomas Edward Bignall b. 1860-1892

Does anyone know of this John Bignal ?. Has he changed his name? Was he from Barbados or Bermuda? Is there anyone out there who can help me. John may have more children with Phillis before marrying her.

Much appreciated,
Doritt

I am still looking for when and where John Bignal originates. Could he be that Overseer @ Mulatto River and Port Royal ? Could he be that John Bignal who married Eliza Houghton from Saint Andrews before 1830 ?. He was 20yrs older than my 4th grand-mother Phillis Neufoille/ Neufville b. 1824, who lived @ Mulatto River when he married her in 1842. Her mother's name was Agnes Ross.

Can anyone help me?
