Seeking information on the family of Herbert Lester Grant, my maternal grandfather. He was born in Georgetown, British Guiana, in 1895, grew up in Barbados, as a young man worked briefly in Trinidad and in Montreal, Canada. The entire family moved to New York in the mid 1920s. Father was Ulysses (or Ulyyses) S. Grant, mother was Marion Louise Roberts, brothers Maurice Vivian, Noel and Jimmy (who died young in a boating accident). One of his grandmothers' maiden name was Clark. The family was originally from Scotland but I don't know when or from what part. He was the only one of his siblings born in British Guiana. The family only lived there a few years between long stints in Barbados. I believe he served in WW1, but I can only find UK records, not colonial ones.

My Great Grandfather Was Abram Roberts, he had resided in Canada, however he met Matilda French in Barbados, they were married and settled in Connecticut. That is the only information I have on him.
