JOHN PHILLIPS arrived in the West Indies in the 1850's. He had at least one son, GEORGE EGBERT PHILLIPS, who married ELIZABETH LATCHMAN (or LURCHMAN). George lived and worked on St Vincent as a sugar cane plantation manager, however in the early 1900's they moved to Sydney, Australia where they had 3 children, one of whom was my father, SYDNEY JOHN PHILLIPS. If anyone can shed some light on their backgrounds etc. it would be deeply appreciated
