I am attempting to find family connections with Jamaican's bearing the English surname, Marren. I've been told that while the name is not terribly common, it does maintain a noticable presence around the coastal towns of St Ann's Parish, where it is born by Jamaicans of both English and African heritage. Some Black Jamaicans have brought the Marren surname back to Britain via post-war immigration. Does anyone know of the history behind the Marren surname in Jamaica? Thank-you!
