John King came from Scotland and set up a trading business on St. Thomas in 1803. Later his brother William King joined him there. John King had a warehouse at 33 Droningensgade (where the Royal Carribean store is now) and in front of it he built King's Wharf which is still there. I have limited information about him and his family and would welcome any that anyone else may have. I would also be happy to share what I know of St. Thomas in those days with anyone else interested.

good evening . i have recently found out my great great grandfather was james philip king born around 1882 in st thomas and after seeing your post was wondering if he was any relation ? He was in the north of england around 1898 when my great grandfather was born but did not marry my great great grandmother. in fact he married a virgin islands girl and moved to the US

if you think there might be a connection i would be grateful for any information , if not then my apologies for disturbing you
