I have been aware of the ILLIDGE name in the Dutch Antilles for some time, but now I have a definate family connection I wish to find out more.

The earliest ILLIDGE I know, was GEORGE ILLIDGE born in England in 1773, he arrived in the Caribbean in about 1789.
I have some mentions of him being addressed as " The Hon George Illidge " he was an early Methodist and lived for a long time in "The Brick House" in Philpsburgh in SINT MAARTEN, which was used by the early Methodists as a meeting House etc.

I know very little else about him other than he died in Sint Maarten in 1854.

I believe he had at least two children named GEORGE ILLIDGE Jnr and curiously LONDON ILLIDGE.

I have been on the WIEWASWIE Dutch website, which gives some early information but only seems to start about 1860 and I am looking for any information before then to start my research.

CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE ?
