I'm looking for the Benjamin(s) of Anguilla. My great grandfather is David Benjamin and his son (my grandfather) if Alfred Benjamin of Grand Case, St. Martin. Because my grandfather is deceased, I hoping to get info on my great granduncles (my grandfather's siblings) and my great grandfather's parents.

Thanks for your response - it has been immensely helpful; so the connection with Alfred Henry to David Benjamin is as follows: The names appear to have some errors but the line up is correct. Alfred Henry Benjamin (m. to Olive Baptiste) is the same as Alphege (Alfred/Alfredge) Godfrey Benjamin b. 9/13/1912 who is the son of David Benjamin b. 1868 who had said child with Rebecca Ann Reed b. 7/29/1890 ... thus he is the grandson of David Benjamin b: Bef 1840 (m. Mary Ann Fleming).

Let's keep working together - your info unlocked much of my paternal family: Benjamin/Reed/Gumbs; I understand my Great Grandmother, Rebecca Reed's relationship with my Great Grandfather, David Benjamin, but I'm not quite sure as to all that follows in her 2d marriage/relationship with Phillip Gumbs.

Is there any information on David Benjamin b: Bef. 1840 regarding his parents and did he have children other than Ida and David - in a 2d marriage/relationship perhaps?

Did David Benjamin b. 1968 have any children with Anna Richardson (his second wife)?

I see info regarding some being laborers of Stoney Ground - Were my grandparents free, indentured or slaves in these early and late 1800's?

I know this is an old post, so I hope that you will see this information. I am researching St Martin records, and while Beckers are not my direct line, I have seen many of the records of that family. The lineage of Charles Ferdinand Becker spans many generations. I did find a record for Death 13 JAN 1829 of Charles Ferdinand Becker(1777–1829), son of Charles Ferdinand Becker. States he is from Strausberg du Bas Rhine if I read It correctly. That would be France but on the German border I believe. Becker, by the way, means "baker"...... most of the generations of Charles Ferdinand Becker in St Martin state their occupation as "Boulanger" (baker). Hope you find this message and that it helps.
