Did any of your ALLSOPs marry Christian Rene WOODMAN in Barbados? I am at a brick wall so thought I would give it a shot.....

Sorry, I don't have any WOODMAN in my database, but that does not mean much. My Alsop is from back in the late 1700s, and the best I can do so far is say that Elizabeth Alsop - who my ggggrandfather married - had a father named Nathaniel Alsop, and he married Hannah Davis in 1795.

Children were
1. John Alsop, b. 29 Nov 1795, Saint Michael, Barbadoes, Caribbean
2. George James Alsop, b. 26 May 1802, Saint Michael, Barbadoes, Caribbean
3. Elizabeth Alsop, b. 25 Dec 1804, Barbados, West Indies.
4. Katharine Jane Alsop, b. 25 Aug 1811, Saint Michael, Barbadoes, Caribbean
5. Joseph Thomas Alsop, b. 1 May 1814, Saint Michael, Barbadoes, Caribbean
6. Nathaniel Alsop

In those early records I did not expand through the spouse and add the complete family, as I do now, so it's possible. If you think there is a match please let me know and I can run through my reference books and see what I can find for you.

BTW, as far as I can see, the Alsop's were a coloured family, and I have been told they were wealthy.

I don't think we have a match and it was such a long shot that I would not want you to waste time going through old records. I just thought I would put the names out there again in the hopes that someone might recognize them and help me to get a bit further along in my quest. I have been able to find out quite a lot about my WESTERN/WOODMAN/BENJAMIN families so should not complain really. Its just that I am fascinated by their lives there and would love to learn how they all got there and this brick wall is driving me crazy.

Thanks for replying to my post
