Re: SENIOR (Richard) - West Indies

Eric, thanks very much for your posts, if only we could find more about Julia as I think she must have been a resident of the West Indies. Not sure of your families but ours was always told we were descended from the Spanish. There was definitely the Spanish features in ours. How could we find about...

Re: SENIOR (Richard) - West Indies

Interesting to read your post Jennie. Alice was born in 1790 so a big age difference between Julia and her sister Alice, it would seem as though Richard was the same one. :D

EricD this reply to your post from April albiet a little late! Really appreciate this information, I was just checking posts to see if there were any new ones, somehow I'd missed yours sorry. Alice Senior was also my 4xgrandmother, still can't find the surname (unmarried) of her mother though.

Re: SENIOR (Richard) - West Indies

Thank you Pauline, I will be printing off all the information you have given. I did have some census records but hadn't followed Edward's siblings and that is interesting. Hopefully someone has information regarding jewish burials. :D

Re: SENIOR (Richard) - West Indies

Pauline really enjoying your feedback. I'm sure that's not our Edward as he is with his wife Susan in 1871 census. He married Susan Harriet Frost in 1851, her father William is a Queen's Marshalman (how exciting!) And William his father is a gentleman, what I wonder made him a gentleman, have you an...

Re: SENIOR (Richard) - West Indies

They moved to New Zealand where unfortunately she died very young leaving young children (he remarried). Not sure whether w...

Re: SENIOR (Richard) - West Indies

She is also my ancestor. From what I have read from other people's information it appears that she was from the West Indies but noone has given a surname. Some sources say she was of Spanish, Jewish descent. As our family were always told of Spanish ancestry, I think it is possibly correct.
