Re: A History of St. Kitts

There's a great engine (free) that searches all the used book stores and I often end up ordering from AbeBooks but there are a couple others, equally as good

Re: Request for Wills from the PRO/Kew:

They're available .; for example, here's Isidore's: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documentsonline/details-result.asp?queryType=1&resultcount=1&Edoc_Id=497061 and they're 3.5 pounds (which I round off to $5) and you get the original as PDF, right then. It's wonderful, except the writing ...

CARDIN - St. Kitts, Nevis, Anguilla, Antigua, Barbados

Mostly St. Kitts, 1800-1875+ but known to own/manage estates on the other islands as far back as Peter and Margaret Cardin on Barbados in 1670.

Also interested in St. Kitts'-only associated names, HARDTMAN and possibly WILSON.

Three Years Too Late

In 2007 I was contacted through e-mail by a professional researcher in Australia. They had a sixteen year old boy who had drowned in 1855 with the surname I was researching and she was looking for "kin". The cemetery where he had lain all this time had been severely damaged in a storm and ...

Jim, how do you know these wills exist/where did you find them listed? I looked at the National Archive wills . http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ for "Lynch" (they're about $5 apiece) but don't think I saw any of these people. I just had good luck finding my "main" St. Kitts pe...

A History of St. Kitts

I'm enjoying A History of St. Kitts: The Sweet Trade , by Vincent K. Hubbard, published by Macmillan Caribbean, 2002 ( http://www.macmillan-caribbean.com ). It's only 150 pages but is footnoted and has a good index but is easy/fascinating reading. It has given me a sense of the history and problems ...

Re: REYNOLDS GUYANA

Here's some Reynolds: http://www.vc.id.au/tb/bgcolonistsR.html Looks like one was married in London (Clerkenwell). The whole site is pretty good for Guyana-borns, some good information/history.
