You know what? In the past I have offered to get involved in several presences, one of those the Barbados Museum (for which my great-grandfather was one of the founders). The response was no, they had everything figured out already. I was later told the Board is so political they rarely get anything...

Sorry, guys, but I have to intervene. PLEASE do not post your emails on the Index. Just click on the PM button under the other person's post and send messages to each other, or even just use the PM feature instead of emails. The SPAMmers use "spiders" - software that combs the internet una...

You have made a start... now at least others can find you. Try adding more names and relationships - one is not always enough. If you add, for instance, his wife and her maiden name, as well as the names of others - children, grandparents, etc - you may attract a faster response because of the great...

LYNCH - Barbados

Hi...

I'm a Lynch, from Barbados, and I'm "white". But according to my research I have at least one black ancestor in Barbados.

If your own research discovers any Barbados connections I'd appreciate hearing from you.

Ernmest's records are indeed extensive, and seem to be for the whole English-speaking Caribbean (and perhaps more).

I do not know what he is asking for the CD, and my last two emails to him went unanswered, so I think he's currently on an extended visit (away from home).

Sorry...

See my previous message. Posting your surnames here is a good start, and using all the free facilities before looking for a researcher is a very good idea - you save money in researcher's time because you can target where you cannot get any furtrher without skilled help. Documenting your research is...

In fact the man's name is Beausire, and he was French - or from Alsace Lorraine. And a Captain in the British Royal Artillery? I'd stick a question mark there... My interest is in tracing Polly Kithry and her nationality as the surname is not English or French. The best guess at this stage is that ...

The two baptism records shown on http://sv.usaroots.com/index.php/baptism-records/ suggest that the father was in the Royal Artillery and the mother - Polly KITHRY - a local negro... the children are each described as a "Free Coloured Child" (I think it's safe to presume that for 1813 a Ca...
