Question about crew lists here

In my experience of transcribing lists from ships arriving in Sydney Australia, the crew lists show both crew and passengers. Do the passenger lists attached to this topic emanate from such a document or are these from departures of passengers only? I am seeking a mariner from St Barts , Alexander H...

HANCOCK - Saint Barthélemy

I have located a maternal great grandfather Alexander Hancock who lists his country of origin on crew lists for ships sailing to Australia in the 1870's and '80's as Saint Barthélemy. He died in 1885 in the Marine Hospital San Francisco at aged 45 so was presumably born in the 1840's. Physical evide...
