Mary married Robert McNish (1755 - 1828) in 1796 Your great, great Grandfather, Walter, is the only one of Alexander and Anna Walters children that I don't have any details of when he died. Do you have this i...

Re: MCNISH - Antigua

I have ordered Walters death certificate. Hopefully that may shed some light on whether there is one Walter or two. Not sure that the same occupation is enough proof that there is only one, especially since their years are different. Based on past experience, takes about 4-6 weeks to receive the cer...

Re: MCNISH - Antigua

I am pretty sure that the Robert B McNish, listed in the 1910 Census as living with Walter L B McNish, is the same person that Florence referred to in her letters as her brother Brodie R McNish. I also haven't had much luck in getting certificates from Antigua, but I am about to try again. They did ...

Re: MCNISH - Antigua

I have been trying to decipher some of Florence's letters. They are difficult to read and she rambles a lot. My in-laws are currently trying to decipher the letters and document any relevant details about family etc. However, in several of her letters, she does "pass on her brother Walter and h...

Re: MCNISH - Antigua

Yes it would appear that Larise and Louise could be the same person and that they are all siblings, although I would like some more proof to confirm. I will order a copy of Walters death certificate. That will hopefully verify his parents. The US social security index indicated Walters mother was Re...

Re: MCNISH - Antigua

The 1930 Census record was for Gates Ave. Brooklyn. I have correspondence from Florence that indicates she lived in Gates Ave in 1946. We also have correspondence from 1933, which indicates she lived in Throop Ave Brooklyn. The 1930 Census record would appear to indicate that the residence is a lodg...
