Re: LIDET / LYDEATT / LYDEAT, Caroline - Antigua

Do you know her father's or mother's first name? There was a Ledeatt family on the island in those times and way beyond; the name still exists there. I've searched the family details but found no mention of Caroline. You may prefer to reply by PM.

Re: Codrington estate, St Kitts

Hi Chris. Elizabeth Schaw's Journal Of A Lady Of Quality, might just shed some light on your interest on the possibility of Olavaze or Olivees estate in St Kitts been once owned by your forebears. The section on St Kitts is quite interesting. In the extreme likelihood that you may have missed readin...

Re: CARROTT - Antigua

One of the Carrott family was at one time actively involved in Antigua politics with the Antigua Labour Party. It might be worth contacting the present ruling, now (ABLP) in St John's for further information which I feel they would be willingto provide.

Re: MCNISH - Antigua

I have seen the gravestone of a McNish in the churchyard of St John's Cathedral, Antigua, although I do not remember the first name. The inscription was faded but Mc Nish was quite discernible. There is also an area in the south of Antigua called McNish, probably an old plantation and some hills cal...

Re: ROACH Plantation on Antigua?

Quite so, but not as a planter as far as I can see which leads perhaps to the LaRoche -Laroche family; there may be no connection whatever, on the other hand...?

Re: ROACH Plantation on Antigua?

St. Mary's Church at Old Road, no doubt! I've seen references to Roach but not as a planter, of course he might well have been; I'll try and dig a bit deeper to see if anything else turns up.

Re: ROACH Plantation on Antigua?

There was a "LaRoche" - "Laroche" family with plantations in St Paul's parish in Antigua; they were of French descent. can't say I've ever heard of a Roach plantion on the island though. Might there be some connection?

Re: VALENTINE - Antigua

Hi granddaughter, if you haven't already received information on your subject, you can try the Antigua and Barbuda Telephone Directory. There are Valentines listed there and a Valantine; you might get some help there.

Hi purpleplatinum5
