Re: PHILLIPS - Jamaica

Hi - I had a great aunt who was married to a James Phillips. Her name was Ann John Clarke b. 1825 d. 1903. All I know about her husband is that he was the manager of an estate near Montego Bay. Is there anyone in your tree who might be James?

My family name is CLARKE and I have both RANKINE and DAVIES amongst my relations as follows:- JOHN RANKINE. Born at Belvedere in St James in 1838. Went to sea at about 15 yea...

John Clarke

The family lived in Hanover & St James. John Clarke married Petronella Virgo circa 1760, had two sons, John & William Virgo Clarke. WV Clarke married Ann Parr Bernard and had a son Wm Virgo Clarke [II] born in 1801.
So it does not look as if there is a connection to your John Clark.
