Hi, I am trying to find info on my G Grandmother Margaret King. 1867-1935
On the 1891 English census she lists birth as County Mayo.
Her name is listed as Maggie Johnson.
I have never found a marriage cert and all the childrens birth cert have a blank where you insert father.
Her oldest son my Grandad was born in manchester in 1887 so she must have left Ireland prior to that. On his birth cert her name is listed as Johnson - formerly King. My Grandads marriage cert lists father Francis Johnson-clerk, so I assume she took his surname.
